The trip acts as a perfect stepping stone into the world of mountaineering. If you are an avid mountaineer looking to progress on to bigger peaks or simply looking to complete your 7 summits quest this is your starting point. Offering a unique experience, you will trek through varied climates from jungle to desolate landscapes, you will get to see it all.

But our bigger purpose is to enhance your journey to a higher level from which you can make the most out of our experience and knowledge. You will spend quality time and trek together with the world's best on every step of the way; learning from them firsthand, hearing real-world experiences and life lessons, whether it is to do with high altitude climbing or simply a mental fortitude you need to have to be the best at what you do. Our leaders will hold pop-up masterclasss and briefings along the route in the lower camps where they will talk about mindset, resilience and other valuable lessons. We aim to provide you with actionable insights that can be readily available beyond the expedition, fostering continual development and empowerment.

Our Elite Exped’s Kilimanjaro expedition can be completed in just nine days, and we make sure that allows for plenty of time for acclimatization. From the base of the mountain to the summit is more than 5,000m, a distance which takes time to adjust to. Hence we have added one extra day for contingency ending the trip in just 10 days.

Just like experience for high altitude climbing. 20+ hours of flying all the way from Japan. The journey was worth every penny. Safety was a priority and logistics and preparations was fantastic. Highly recommend this crew and will want to challenge Aconcagua or Manaslu in the future.

This tried and tested itinerary is informed by decades of mountaineering experience. As with all adventurous activities of this type however, circumstances may arise where Elite Exped is forced to make alterations, possibly at short notice. While making every effort to adhere to this published schedule, we kindly ask for your patience if the weather, or other naturally occurring circumstances, intervene.

Your daily schedule

  • Day 01

    Arrive at Kilimanjaro's international airport and transfer to hotel.

  • Day 02

    Gear check, Masterclass intro briefing and team dinner.

  • Day 03

    High altitude drop off and trek to Shira camp 1.

  • Day 04

    Trek from Shira camp 1 to Shira camp 2 via Catherdral tower for acclimatisation at 3895m.

  • Day 05

    Trek from Shira camp 2 to Lava tower for acclimatisation at 4600m then trek to Barranco camp.

  • Day 06

    Trek from Barranco camp to Karanga camp via the famous Barranco wall.

  • Day 07

    A short trek from Karanga camp to Barafu camp and rest ahead of the summit push.

  • Day 08

    Trek from Barafu camp to Uhuru peak 5895m and descend back to Barafu camp for a rest stop before descending down to Millenium camp to sleep.

  • Day 9

    Trek from Millenium camp to Mweka camp then trek to Mweka gate, exit from the Kilimanjaro national park and back to the hotel for farewell dinner.

  • Day 10

    Departure from Tanzania.

What accommodation is included?

All accommodation is included from the initial meeting point through to the end of the expedition, as listed on the itinerary. We always choose the highest quality hotels, even when travelling through more remote areas with less established infrastructures.

Our base camp accommodation is also of the highest quality and comfort and can be completely tailored to the demands of global lifestyles. We can discuss options and your needs during the booking phase.

Seven Summits

Climb Aconcagua

As the highest peak in South America - and the highest mountain on the planet outside of Asia - Aconcagua represents a significant conquest for any mountaineer. Surrounded by dramatic glaciers, including the 10km long Ventisquero Horcones Inferior, this magnificent 6,961m high peak is not without its challenges, but is not considered hugely difficult from a technical point of view. Many climbers - and Elite Exped clients - use this as a preparatory peak ahead of tackling greater objectives in the Himalayas.
