Summit the first and the fourth highest peak in a single climbing season

Elite Exped’s leaders Nimsdai and Mingma David set a speed record for climbing Everest and Lhotse back to back in 2017, and again summited both in a single day in 2019, during Nimsdai’s Project Possible push. This experience of climbing at speed on the world’s highest mountains is unparalleled. But our expertise isn’t just based on climbing fast - it’s been accumulated over long years of guiding on Everest and Lhotse in all conditions.

Our handpicked team of guides have chalked up dozens of successful summits of each peak between them. They also have years of experience fixing ropes on the route, as well as working as Icefall Doctors - arguably the most difficult job of all, establishing and maintaining routes through the ever-changing Khumbu Icefall.

Elite Exped’s combined Everest and Lhotse program is based on Mingma David and Nims’ own, hyper-efficient expedition plans - the ones that enabled them to break those speed records. We tackle Everest first via the conventional South Col route, and aim to head up Lhotse without returning to base camp.

On returning to the South Col from the summit of Everest, we will assess the strength and the motivation of every climber in the party individually, and if our stringent conditions are met, we will head to Lhotse high camp the same day, after a few hours of rest. Alternatively, we can spend the night at the South Col, rest up and move to Lhotse high camp the following day, summiting shortly afterward. We aim to spend no longer than 60 days in total completing the expedition.

At Elite Exped, we oversee every step of our own logistical operations, rather than relying on third parties. We control everything that can be controlled to ensure that we meet the very highest safety standards, and maximize efficiency. This means we are able to offer ambitious packages like the Everest and Lhotse combo climbs that some other guiding companies cannot.

Our founders’ Nepalese heritage and ability to bridge the gap between Western and Himalayan climbing cultures allows us to run every aspect of our operation smoothly, without fear of misunderstandings. The success of our approach is evident in Nimsdai’s own achievements, including his 100 percent success rate on 8,000m climbs.

As well as being highly-skilled mountaineers, every one of our guides has extensive experience of conducting high-altitude rescue operations. We have evacuation plans and accessible helicopter rescue in place for emergencies. No-one can cater for every eventuality in the world’s most extreme environments, but we can guarantee that you will be in the safest possible hands should something unexpected happen.

We don’t see our clients as clients - we see them as friends and fellow high-achievers. People who, like us, have made chasing their dreams a priority. We know why you climb, because we feel the same way. That means we’ll make sure no stone is left unturned in our quest to help you achieve those dreams. We know how it feels to stand on top of the world, and how it feels to summit multiple 8,000m peaks. It’s our dream to be able to share that with you.

Why choose
Elite Exped?

Nimsdai Purja, Mingma David Sherpa’s and Mingma Tenzi’s mountaineering groundbreaking records speak for themselves, but our leaders are more than just supremely talented climbers.

While some choose to direct operations from back office, our three directors lead from the front. Their experience in every aspect of guiding and climbing — from fixing ropes to organising logistics — is unparalleled. It's no surprise that they have the industry-leading success rate when it comes to summiting 8,000m peaks.

Beyond this, our handpicked team of guides have also chalked up dozens of successful summits between them.

Safety through

If it’s controllable we control it: this is key to attaining and maintaining our industry-leading strategy for success and safety.

We maximise our options, agility and responsiveness by running self-sufficient expeditions that don’t rely on any other teams to achieve our objectives.

Our team is capable of setting up our own fixed lines (with a proven track record on all 8,000m peaks) and has backups to cover all scenarios. These include everything from secondary oxygen supplies to the ability and experience to operate our own rescue missions if the situation arises.

A unique

With his Nepalese roots and UK residency, our co-founder Nimsdai Purja brings a unique perspective and an unparalleled ability to bridge the gap between Western and Himalayan climbing cultures.

We can assemble trusted teams and networks anywhere in the world, but our founders’ roots are a particular advantage when it comes to summiting the world’s very highest peaks.

An intimate knowledge of how things work on the ground ensures that everything runs smoothly when you’re 8,000m above sea-level.

K2 isn’t nicknamed “the savage mountain” for nothing. The world’s second highest peak is arguably the toughest challenge in mountaineering, but nearby Broad Peak, the world’s 12th highest mountain, is the perfect stepping stone to tackling this daunting challenge. This expedition offers you the chance to conquer two of the Karakorum’s most iconic peaks in the space of a single summer climbing season.
