8000m Peaks

Nanga Parbat

Arguably the biggest
challenge of them all.

Nanga Parbat
Expedition

Nanga Parbat presents a foreboding challenge facing anyone attempting to climb all 14 of the 8,000ers. Its Urdu name translates as “the naked mountain,” so-called because snow doesn’t cling to its steep sides, and locals in Pakistan’s Diamer district call it Deo Mir, meaning “huge mountain”. But the nickname it’s earned in Western mountaineering circles, “the killer mountain,” is the most ominous of all. Nowhere is expert guidance, or proper preparation more key. Which is where we come in.

Aimed at climbers who’ve made multiple ascents of 8000m peaks and are highly proficient in mountaineering - including moving safely in rock, glacier and snowy terrain.

Climb the Naked Moutain

Elite Exped’s leaders have unparalleled experience in the world’s most extreme mountain environments. Nims and Mingma David have climbed all of the world’s 8,000m peaks in record time. Nims has a 100 percent success rate on 8,000ers, and perhaps more importantly, the pair have a 100 percent safety record - when working together, not a single member of any of their teams has lost so much as a fingertip to frostbite.

This record offers the kind of reassurance you need when tackling a peak as tricky and technical as Nanga Parbat. If you want the best of the best leading you, you could not be in safer hands.

Our Nanga Parbat expedition plan is based on the cast-iron plan that Nims and Mingma David designed and implemented as part of the record-breaking Project Possible push in 2019. We leave 48 days for the expedition, which is time enough to enjoy the spectacular drive in from Islamabad and celebrate with at the Alpine Club of Pakistan on your return to the city. It also gives more than enough time to acclimatise, and a long climbing window.

As in Nepal, we oversee every aspect of the expedition when operating in Pakistan - from carrying in food, to fixing ropes, we control the controllable, making sure that nothing is left to chance. Nanga Parbat’s fearsome reputation only makes it all the more important to prepare for all eventualities, and make sure that the highest standards of safety are maintained.

Elite Exped’s highly experienced guiding team are not just record-breaking mountaineers - they also have extensive training in high altitude rescues. We have evacuation plans and helicopters in place for emergencies. Our guaranteed 1:1 guide to client ratio, with four Sherpas constantly on standby if needed, ensures that we can respond rapidly in rescue situations.

Most importantly, our preparation is second to none, which ensures that you have the best possible chance of achieving your goal, and summiting this difficult peak safely. From the moment you sign up to our Nanga Parbat expedition, to the summit, and back, we’ll be with you, step by step.

Manaslu was my first 8,000er and first time with Elite. They exceeded my expectations at every level and stage. I would have no hesitation in booking with them again! Highly recommended!!!

I often felt they went above and beyond to ensure we had a successful expedition. Excellent judgments throughout the expedition led us to reach the summit safely in extreme conditions. Highly recommend!

8000m Peaks

K2 isn’t nicknamed “the savage mountain” for nothing. The world’s second-highest peak is arguably the toughest challenge in mountaineering. For a long time, it was considered unconquerable and the number of successful expeditions was very low.

8000m Peaks

Mount Everest, known to locals as Sagarmatha, is undoubtedly on the bucket list of every adventurer. Who wouldn't want to conquer the highest mountain on the planet?

Apr-Jun
8000m Peaks

Characterized by its sharp, picturesque peak, Manaslu dominates the Mansiri-Himal subrange of the Himalayas. First summited by a Japanese team in 1956, the world’s eighth-highest mountain has a long association with Japanese climbers, but among Europeans remains one of the less well-known peaks. Reaching the summit at 8,163m is a serious undertaking, but one that Elite Exped is ideally equipped to help you achieve.
