Bespoke Training Programme

We believe the mountains are there for everyone to enjoy, and that even the best of us can gain from the shared knowledge of others. With every expedition, our aim is for you to develop your skills, to grow in strength, and push always a little higher.

Although many clients come equipped with the necessary skills and experience, Nims, Mingma David, and the team remain passionate about sharing the knowledge that has allowed them to succeed as record-breaking mountaineers. They and our team of elite guides don’t just lead - they work with you to develop your skills, proficiency, and confidence, encouraging you to climb with an increasing self-reliance over the course of your time with us.

Our local guides also carry with them invaluable native knowledge, often handed down through generations of climbers in their families. They don’t just know the difficult Himalayan landscapes and weather systems like the back of their hands, they call these mountains home.

As with all our trips, the expedition plan on this programme has been set out by our leaders Nimsdai, Mingma David, and Mingma Tenzi. Taking 23 days from arrival in Kathmandu to departure at the other end, we give you plenty of time to acclimatize and to take in the sights and sounds of the incredible Khumbu region. The trek will take you through Namche Bazaar, the monastery town of Tengboche and Dingboche. We’ll also take a trip to Everest Base Camp where you will spend three days training under the supervision of either Mingma David Sherpa or our IMFGA Guidesor Nimsdai.

Soon after you will then head to climb the nearest, one of the most popular peaks of Nepal, Lobuche East Peak where you will test the skills you have learnt.

Members who have joined us here have never worn crampons in life before but, they have progressed into summiting some of the big mountains such as the mighty K2.

You just need the right leadership and the right team to #achieveyournewpossible

Why choose
Elite Exped?

Unparalleled
leadership

Nimsdai Purja and Mingma David Sherpa’s mountaineering world records speak for themselves, but our founders are more than just supremely-talented climbers. While some choose to direct operations from a back office, Nimsdai and Mingma David lead from the front. Their experience of every aspect of guiding and climbing - from fixing ropes, to organising logistics - is unparalleled. It’s no surprise that when they’ve worked together they have a perfect, 100 percent success rate when it comes to summiting 8,000m peaks.

Safety through
self-sufficiency

If it’s controllable we control it, this is key to attain and maintain our industry leading strategy for success and safety. We maximise our options, agility and responsiveness by running totally self-sufficient expeditions, not relying on any other teams on the mountain to achieve our objectives. We are capable of setting up our own fixed lines (with a proven track record on all 8,000m peaks) and have backups to cover all scenarios, from secondary oxygen supplies through to the ability and experience to operate our own rescue missions if the situation arises.

A unique
perspective

With his Nepalese roots, and UK residency, our co-founder Nimsdai Purja brings a unique perspective of the world of mountaineering, and an unparalleled ability to bridge the gap between Western and Himalayan climbing cultures. We can assemble trusted teams and networks anywhere in the world, but our founders’ roots are a particular advantage when it comes to summiting the world’s very highest peaks. An intimate knowledge of how things work on the ground ensures that everything runs smoothly when you’re 8,000m above sea-level.

6000m Peaks

At 6,812m above sea level, Ama Dablam is a long way off the highest peaks in the Himalayas, and yet climbing it is regarded as a true achievement among the mountaineering fraternity. The technical rock and ice climbing skills needed to reach the summit mean you can find Everest veterans, or people who’ve made other 8,000m summits, running into difficulty. In these circumstances, having guides who know the mountain like the back of their hands is essential.

6000m Peaks

Nicknamed Island Peak by Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary’s 1953 Mount Everest Expedition, the mountain properly known as Imja Tse is a perfect introduction to the rigours of Himalayan climbing. At 6,189m above sea level, the peak appears as an island surrounded by a sea of ice if viewed from Dingboche, and offers stunning views of Everest and Lhotse, but is actually relatively accessible. If you’re just embarking on Himalayan climbs, an ascent of Island Peak with Elite Exped is a great place to start.

6000m Peaks

Rising to 6,476m above sea level, Mera Peak, in Khumbu region of Nepal, is known as the gateway to Everest. From its summit, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views which take in five of the world’s highest mountains - Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu and, of course, Everest. But it’s not just the views that give Mera its reputation. This relatively easy mountain is often the first Himalayan climbs that mountaineers tackle, paving the way for greater conquests in future.
